Bangor takes its Freeview from the Llanddona transmitter on Anglesey, just across the Menai Strait. That short hop over the water gives much of the city a strong signal, but Bangor is hilly, and homes on the far side of a slope, or further inland towards Bethesda and the mountains, can be shielded from it.
