When you need cables rerouted

Most TV setups are planned around where the aerial socket happens to be. These are the jobs we're asked to sort out most.

  • The TV needs to move to another wallWe extend or reroute the aerial, satellite, HDMI and network cables to the new position and fit new wall plates.
  • The aerial socket is on the wrong side of the roomWe move the socket to where the TV now sits, rather than leaving a long lead across the floor.
  • Cables trailing across floors or wallsWe tidy them into trunking or conceal them in the wall where the building allows.
  • The router is far from the TVStreaming boxes like Sky Stream work best wired. We run a network cable from the router to the TV.
  • A new room layout or renovationPlanning works? We can route cables before plastering or panelling so they're hidden for good.

Moving TV cable FAQs

Can you hide TV cables in the wall?

Where suitable and safe, yes. It depends on the wall construction and the route. Surface cable covers are an option where concealment isn't practical.

Can you move the power socket too?

Power cables are only routed in a safe and compliant way. A new or moved socket needs an electrician, and we'll tell you if that's required.

Can you move my broadband router?

The router has to stay near your provider's connection point, but we can run a network cable from the router to wherever the TV and streaming box need it.

Can you remount the TV in the same visit?

Yes. We can take the TV down, reroute the cables and remount it on the new wall in one visit.

Will my aerial signal be affected?

We test the signal at the new position before we leave, so you know the picture is clear.

How much does it cost to move TV cables?

It depends on how far the cables are moving, the wall types, and whether they're hidden in the wall or in trunking. You get a free, no obligation quote before any work starts.

Is there a call out charge?

There's no call out charge for quoted work. You get a free, no obligation quote and agree the price before any work starts.

How soon can an engineer visit?

Same-day visits for cable work are often possible, depending on your area and engineer availability. Lines are open 8am to 9pm on weekdays and 8am to 5pm at weekends, and you can WhatsApp us any time.
