Most homes in Kirkcaldy get Freeview from the Craigkelly transmitter, which sits not far away near Burntisland. Being relatively close usually means a strong signal, but that can bring its own issues: an old or poorly aligned aerial can still drop channels, and some setups with amplifiers can actually overload the TV. We measure the signal and fit the right aerial for your address.
Flats and houses facing the Forth are exposed to wind and salty spray. Aerial clamps and brackets corrode faster here, and cable joints let in water, which causes the picture to break up during storms. We use weather-resistant fittings and seal connections properly so repairs last.
Glenrothes, Cardenden and Lochgelly have lots of post-war and newer homes, some with aerials in the loft and some with none at all. Moving an aerial to the roof, adding TV points for bedrooms, or setting up a smart TV with Freely are common jobs here, as is tidying up old cabling left behind by previous installs.

He quickly diagnosed the problem as not being the aerial, but the masthead amp & power unit. He had a spare on his van, and the work was completed within 30 minutes.

A strong signal can be too strong for some setups, especially where an amplifier was added years ago. Other common causes are a damaged cable, a corroded connector or an aerial that has moved. We test the signal level at the TV and fix whatever is causing the problem.
Sometimes. Because Craigkelly is relatively close, a loft aerial can work in some Kirkcaldy homes. Roof materials and the position of the house matter, so we check the signal in the loft first. If it isn't strong enough, a roof aerial is the more reliable option.
