Freeview for most of Leicester and its suburbs comes from the Waltham transmitter, which stands to the north east near Melton Mowbray. The ground is fairly gentle, so a well-fitted aerial pointing at Waltham normally gives strong reception. Where channels drop, we usually find damaged cable, loose connectors or an aerial knocked off line by wind. We also check that splitters and wall plates are in good order, as these are easy to overlook.

Most of Leicester is served by Waltham, which is north east of the city. An aerial facing a different way may get weaker signal or miss channels. We measure signal strength and quality on site and line the aerial up so all Freeview channels come in cleanly.
Yes. Water getting into old coaxial cable gradually ruins the signal and causes pixelation, especially in wet weather. Replacing the cable with good quality low-loss coax and sealing outdoor joints properly usually restores a clear picture. We check the aerial and bracket at the same time.
