Privacy & cookie policy

Last updated 15 October 2026

This policy explains what personal information TV Install Experts collects when you use this website or get in touch, how we use it, who we share it with and the choices you have. It also explains the cookies we use.

Who we are

TV Install Experts is a trading name of Aerial Services Scotland Ltd, a company registered in Scotland (company no. SC296435). We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy, which means we decide how and why it is used.

  • Registered office: Unit 1, 3 Bowerwalls Place, Barrhead, G78 1BF
  • Trading address: 5b Stewart Street, Barrhead, G78 1UZ
  • VAT number: 882 892175

Data protection contact

Our Data Protection Officer is James Mullen. If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your information, contact him by email at dataprotection@aerial-install.co.uk, by phone on 0800 470 2737, or by post to our registered office.

What we collect

Information you give us

  • Your name, phone number and email address when you fill in a form, call us or message us on WhatsApp.
  • Your postcode and address, so we can check coverage and send an engineer.
  • Details of the job, including messages and any photos you send us.
  • Payment details when you pay for work. Card payments are handled by our payment provider; we do not store your full card number.
  • Records of the work we carry out, quotes, invoices, payments and any warranty.

Information collected when you use the website

With your permission, we collect information about how you use the site, such as the pages you visit, the website that referred you, the device, browser and operating system you use, your IP address and approximate location, and the buttons you click. Session recordings may show how pages are used; form fields are masked so we cannot see what you type. We only collect this if you allow analytics or marketing cookies.

How we use your information

We only use your information where the law allows us to. We use it to:

  • Reply to enquiries and give you a quote. We do this to take steps you have asked for before entering a contract.
  • Arrange and carry out the work, take payment and honour any warranty. This is needed to perform our contract with you.
  • Keep business and tax records. We have a legal obligation to do this.
  • Deal with questions, complaints and disputes, and keep our services safe. This is in our legitimate interests in running the business properly.
  • Understand how the website is used and improve it, and measure how well our adverts work. We only do this with your consent.
  • Send you updates or offers by email or text, but only if you have agreed to receive them. Every message includes a way to unsubscribe.

Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for automated decisions that have a legal or similarly significant effect on you.

Who we share it with

We share information only where we need to, with:

  • The engineers who carry out your job.
  • Our payment provider, to process card payments.
  • Service providers who help us run the business and this website: Webflow (website hosting and forms), PostHog (website analytics, hosted in the EU), Google (Google Analytics, Google Ads and Google Tag Manager) and WhatsApp (part of Meta) when you message us there.
  • Our professional advisers, such as accountants and insurers.
  • Courts, regulators or the police, where the law requires it.

We may share anonymised statistics that cannot identify you, for example with advertising partners. Some of our providers may process information outside the UK, including in the United States. Where that happens, the transfer is protected by safeguards approved under UK data protection law, such as the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the reason we collected it, or for as long as you have given us permission.

  • Enquiries that do not lead to a job: up to 12 months.
  • Customer, job and payment records: 6 years after the end of the tax year the work was done in, to meet tax and accounting rules, or for as long as your warranty lasts if that is longer.
  • Website analytics data: no longer than 14 months.

After this we securely delete the information or make it anonymous.

Keeping your information secure

We take appropriate technical and organisational steps to protect your information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. These include password-protected systems with access limited to staff who need it, anti-virus protection, encryption, regular backups, and restricted access to the areas where computers are kept. Our website is served over a secure, encrypted connection.

If there is a data breach that is likely to put your rights at risk, we will tell you and the Information Commissioner's Office where the law requires us to.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • Ask for a copy of the information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete.
  • Ask us to delete your information.
  • Ask us to restrict or stop using your information, or object to how we use it.
  • Ask us to transfer your information to another organisation.
  • Withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent.

To use any of these rights, email dataprotection@aerial-install.co.uk, call 0800 470 2737 or write to our registered office. We will reply within one month. There is normally no charge.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Cookies

Cookies are small files stored on your device when you visit a website. Some are essential to make the site work. Others help us understand how the site is used and how our adverts perform; we only use those if you agree.

When you first visit, we ask which cookies you are happy with. Analytics and marketing cookies stay off unless you turn them on, and Google tags run in a restricted mode that does not set these cookies until you agree.
